Aviation Services Division
Meteo-Tech’s Aviation division is active in the civil and military aspects of aviation in Israel. The division has diverse scopes of activities, which brings it with close touch with a broad base of customers like, and not limited to, Israel Airport Authority (IAA), Israel Air-Force (IAF) and others.
Meteo-Tech is one of Israel’s leading suppliers of technological systems for the landside operations of civil aviation, working according to highest international standards. We manage distribution and support of systems of various types and categories, as describe below.

The Aviation department activity includes:

Import and Sales
The aviation division is engaged in representing foreign vendors in Israel. Meteo-Tech is accompanying the sales process from early marketing stages, through actual sales, to post-sale support and maintenance.

Among the high visibility non classified sales delivered through Meteo-Tech, sold to the IAA and installed at Ben-Gurion and domestic airports we may note the following projects:

Frequentis, California (former GWDI)
Selling of AFTN, AIS, OPMET and CIDIN systems to the Ben-Gurion airport.
The AFTN (Aeronautical Fixed Telecommunication Network) system handles the exchange of aviation-related messages and data between the Israel Airports Authority and international aviation entities. In fact, it is an automated communication switchboard.

Frequentis
Sale of its advanced Electronic Flight Strips (EFS) and Integrated Operational Display System (IODS) to be deployed in all Israeli airports and ACC. This equipment will support the IAA technological thrust.

Won the last IAA tender for 8 domestic VCS (Voice Communication System) systems to be installed in all the Israeli airports. These systems unify all the communication resources available to controllers.

Jeppesen / Boeing
Meteo-tech represented Jeppesen / Boeing in a deal to supply the Gate Management System for the new Ben-Gurion Terminal3. The gates are a highly important resource at the airport and sophisticated systems are required in order to optimally manage this resource, which is always in short supply and high demand.

Sensis
Sensis is to supply its A_SMGCS safety system to the IAA. The system is to be deployed in 2011 and will include SMRI by SENSIS as well as its well proven Multi-Lateration. The system will enable locating aircraft, vehicles, and will be used to issue warning for dangerous situation. This is a keystone project for the IAA safety enhancement. Meteo-Tech is the agent for Sensis.

SkySoft
Recording of voice and radar are an important safety component to any airport. The IAA has recently renewed its radar and voice data recording system through an international tender. A co-operation between SkySoft and Nice won the tender, in which SkySoft was represented by Meteo-Tech.

Terma
o Terma has supplied the IAA with its ATIS (Automatic Terminal Information Service) and VOLMET (Volume Meteorological – Meteorological Information for Aircraft In Flight) system. These systems are interface to the AFTN. Meteo-Tech acted as Terma's agent.

Meteo-Tech
Meteo-Tech distributes, installs and maintains the Aeronautical Meteorological Systems at the IAA as required by the ICAO. This includes mainly RVR (Runway Visual Range) and Ceilometer systems. Meteo-Tech supplied all the current equipment of the IAA and most of the IAF equipment. These systems include components by Vaisala, Campbell Sci., R.M.Young and others.
