The special projects handled by Meteo-Tech include specialized and complex research and consulting tasks.
These projects reflect our highly diversified capabilities, which enable us to handle various environmental issues,
as well as the efficient integration between our meteorological activities and our air quality activities.
The ‘flagship’ project of our air quality department is the project titled ‘Israel National Air Pollution Reduction Goals’, undertaken for the
Ministry of the Environment.
In the context of this project, we prepared the historic emission record for Israel (1990 through 2002)
and the future emission projection through to the year 2010, according to several scenarios.
Among other things, the project includes cost/benefit analyses of the implementation of the leading emission reduction scenarios.
Another undertaking in the ‘special projects’ category involves consultation for an on-going project regarding the management
of air resources in Israel. The objective of this project, undertaken for the Ministry of the Environment, is (among other things)
to provide continuous forecasting of air quality in Israel, at a high geographic resolution.
